Frequently Asked Questions
Confused? Uncertain? Check out the FAQ’s below and send us a message if you have any questions!

Where Did Pole Dance Originate From?

Although often associated with striptease and gentlemen’s clubs, pole can actually be found throughout a variety of cultures as far back as the middle ages and earlier.

From African women who used wooden poles in tribal dances, to Indian men who completed strength training on thick iron poles, to Chinese acrobatic performances dating back nearly a thousand years, it is safe to say pole has a far more culturally historic origin than many people realise!

What If I'm Not Strong & Flexible Enough?

Our classes are designed to cater to every level imaginable. Can’t reach past your knees? Get out of breath walking up stairs? Never done a single push-up? Welcome to the most fun method possible of improving your strength, fitness & flexibility!

Essentially, If you can stand and walk, you’re strong and flexible enough for our classes! In every single class our experienced instructors will demonstrate several different options for each exercise to ensure every level is catered to.

Can Men Do The Classes?

Absolutely! Rokh Fit welcomes and accommodates everyone in every class.

We know that whilst the men may be stronger than some of the girls, they can lack flexibility and range of movement, which we address and improve.

Can I Just Show Up? Or Do I Need To Book In?

While we always welcome walk-ins it’s important to book in advance to secure your spot in a class. There are limits to how many people can be in each class, as we don’t allow sharing of poles/aerial hammocks. This ensures every participant receives adequate attention and assistance from our instructors.

We do our best to accommodate everyone, but unfortunately if you do not book in advance you may not be able to attend the class you wanted to attend. In particular, Aerial Yoga and Beginner Pole are extremely popular, so definitely jump online to book in!

How Do I Book In?

We use a fantastic software program called MindBody to streamline our bookings and allow you to do everything straight from your computer or smartphone. You can even download the MindBody App to make the process even faster!

To book into a class head to our Schedule Page and follow the three easy steps listed at the top of the page.

Do You Have EFTPOS Onsite?

Yes we do! If you’d prefer to pay securely online you can always do so through our integrated MindBody system, click here to view and buy a Class Pass.

Do I Need To Bring Anything?

Bring a water bottle and a towel and an adventurous attitude! Prepare to get sweaty and to discover the amazing things your body is capable of.

Additionally, for Pole Flow classes it is also recommended that you bring kneepads or purchase a pair from reception.

What Do I Wear?

Your personal comfort is imperative, so whether you want to do a pole class in a t-shirt and ¾ pants, or a sports bra and booty shorts you are absolutely welcome to do so. However, we recommend the following:

Pole Classes – short shorts and a singlet, feel free to bring heels as well. Skin is used to grip the pole, therefore, the more skin you have exposed, the more surface area you have to grip the pole with.

Aerial Yoga – tights, either full length or ¾ length, and a t-shirt. The material from which the aerial hammocks are made can cause a burn-sensation on exposed skin, so it’s best to wear long pants and a shirt with some kind of sleeve.

All Other Classes – whatever you’re comfortable working out it! Feel free to bring a pair of joggers if you’d like some extra support! We also stock knee pads at reception should you like some protection for your knees from the wooden floorboards.

Is There Parking?

Yes! We have parking in our complex AND plenty of well-lit space on the street, all of which are free to you!
